China's heavy truck market showed signs of structural divergence in the first three quarters of 2026. Domestic sales reached approximately 584,500 vehicles from January through September, according to compulsory vehicle insurance registration data, while some leading publicly listed companies in the industry supply chain reported record highs in core operating indicators.
The contrast shows that pressure on the vehicle market did not translate uniformly into company-level results. The sales total and the companies' operating indicators measure different activities, however, so they do not by themselves establish which parts of the supply chain performed best or why.

Supply chain companies have used a range of measures to respond to cyclical fluctuations. Their differing results make the nature and durability of those responses important to watch, alongside subsequent vehicle sales and company disclosures.
