Packaging & Shipment Process for HOWO 6×4 XCMG 12T Straight Boom Truck-mounted Crane
1. Pre-Shipment Anti-Rust Treatment
- Clean the whole truck thoroughly to remove dirt and grease, then dry completely.
- Spray anti-rust wax on all exposed metal parts: crane hydraulic cylinders, bolts, welding seams, axles and chassis frame to prevent salt fog corrosion during long ocean transit.
- Seal all hydraulic pipe joints, electrical wiring sockets with waterproof tape; bundle loose cables neatly to avoid breakage from bumping.
- Adjust engine oil, coolant and fuel to safe levels in line with maritime transport standards.
2. Separate Protection for Fragile Parts
- Cab: Wrap windshield, headlights and rearview mirrors with thick bubble film and hard plastic guards. Lock all cab doors tightly and seal gaps with waterproof stretch film to stop seawater and dust.
- XCMG straight boom crane: Fully retract all boom sections and lock firmly with special fasteners; secure hydraulic cylinders to prevent sliding. Wrap control valves, lifting hook and hydraulic pipelines with multi-layer protective film.
- Cargo box: Stick anti-collision wood strips on box edges and corners to avoid scratches and dents from other vehicles on board.
3. Fixing & Reinforcement for Ro-Ro Vessel
- Main transport method: Ro-Ro roll-on/roll-off ship, the truck can drive onto the ship directly without hoisting damage.
- Vehicle fixing steps:
- Pull handbrake tight and shift gear to lock position.
- Wedge front and rear tires with solid hardwood blocks to stop sliding.
- Use heavy-duty steel lashing chains to fasten the truck’s reserved lashing points to ship deck anchors for all-direction stability against ocean waves.
- Lock crane outriggers and straight boom completely to eliminate swing space during sailing.
4. Documents Packing
Put all complete customs clearance papers into a sealed waterproof file bag, including chassis certificate, XCMG crane factory inspection report, commodity inspection certificate, bilingual operation manual, commercial invoice and packing list. One copy is stored inside the cab, another digital copy will be sent to the customer in advance for destination customs clearance.
5. Optional Upgraded Packaging
- Full vehicle thick anti-rust film wrapping for high-humidity coastal countries.
- IPPC fumigated wooden frame reinforcement for clients requiring extra anti-collision protection.
- Extra chassis anti-corrosion oil spraying for long-distance sea routes over 40 days.
6. Full Shipping Flow
Factory cleaning & anti-rust treatment → inland truck delivery to port → port inspection & photo recording → customs declaration → drive onto ro-ro vessel → fixed on deck by stevedores → ocean transportation with tracking → roll off at destination port → local customs clearance & delivery
